Verse 1:
My hometown labeled me a criminal,
said “I loved to many”,
prejudice for believing in beauty,
was I to know, it to be wrong.
I had to run to keep on living,
for death was the penalty.

Verse 2:
Even if they killed me
what they don't know, love lives inside,
that I’ve found, it’s called soul…
can't take that from me.

Chorus:
I had to run to keep on living,
for death was the penalty.

Verse 3:
Not long after I left,
They were after me,
now was my chance, break free…
had to run like hell,
for the road to safety,
felt so far off,
so far from me.

Chorus:
I had to run to keep on living,
for death was the penalty.
I had to run to keep on living,
for death was the penalty.

Bridge:
No time to think twice,
no time to hear advice,
only time can tell,
where I’ll end up.
where I’ll end up…

Verse 4:
Some call me a martyr,
others a hero,
some think I’m a killa,
shows what they know…
out here fighting,
trying to make it on my own,
I’m out here dying,
why lord only knows…

*Another Chorus if need be....
Well. what.

Something about the first verse of this makes it read like a rapist or a murderous philanderer trying to justify himself.
Whether that was intentional or not, i like that you only allude to the crimes this guy has committed. Other than that, I found it hard to get through whilst reading because there is very little else apart from that allusion.
Allusion giveth, and it taketh away.
