Depends. If she's using her "disability" in order to get attention from people and get privileges because of it, then yes. If she just does it for the lulz then no, not really.

Wheelchairs are fun though. Wish I still had mine.

You, good sir, have not gone over to your friends house after a hard night of drinking to find 2 dudes passed out in the same room both holding their own flaccid cocks in hand, passed out, with porn on the tv.

I must have mispronounced myself if that's how you read it.
What I meant to say is that people indeed actually choose to live with a "disability", such as poverty (yea I consider that a disability really =S) or something like that. Moving along that line I can imagine there are people who would somehow want to live with a physical handicap, such as living in a wheelchair.

That's what I really tried to say in my post. If she lives this way because she simply wants to, that's fine by me. But not if she does so in order to get attention and other health care facilities etc.

I wouldn't say immoral. But people who can't walk might find it really annoying.
I really don't know what to think about het but the first word that comes to mind is "stupid".

Ok i see where you are coming form, but, look at it from the perspective of a person who is paraplegic because of events that were not under their own control. a person like that may not think that it was moral for a woman to give up her god-given right to walk. do you see what i mean? i am not sure if i am being clear enough. clarification from a third-person perspective is not my strong point, especially when it comes to writing.

Pretending to be unable to walk to get some attention is bad. Pretending to be a hobo while you're actually pretty rich to avoid attention isn't a bad thing at all.

I know that feel bro, I wasn't clear enough in my first post either

And yes I get your point. From a perspective of someone who is paraplegic it could be seen as "naive" (if you catch my drift) for someone to WANT to live in a wheelchair, but that is simply because they want to learn to walk themselves so badly I guess. That doesn't make their view wrong, but they are kind of biased about it if you think about it.

No, you misunderstood me.

I did not say people who can't walk don't have a right to get to walk again, of course they deserve the chance to.

But imagine having a handicap you have to live with. And every single piece of your being wants to just get rid of that handicap. But then this woman comes around, in perfect condition, perfectly capable of doing that what you probably never can. And she chooses to live with your handicap, "simply" because she wants to (I did not read the article thoroughly so I don't know this woman's exact motivations).
I would be mad as hell if above story happened to me.

But that is happening in the eyes of that person with a disability. Not one of a person without (like me and assuming you too). So the two of us look at the situation completely different than an actual paraplegic person is.

Note: I am not forbidding them from having a dream of ever walking again, or being mad at the woman in the article. But I am saying that they might not think "rationally" about this topic, like you and me as "outsiders" would.

The fuck is wrong with some people? She needs to get the fuck out of the chair and get a job

Potentially immoral, definitely very strange and also potentially offensive but that's for her to deal with.

Howcome all furry suits look the same? It's always that same disturbingly juvenile look. Why doesn't anyone go for a rhino or like a cheetah with blood all over its chest like cheetahs have after eating. That's what animals look like. Not some god damn big-eyed pansy with purple striped hair. If an animal looked like that in nature it would've gotten beaten up within seconds.

Your relationship with Japan begins and ends with your user-name, doesn't it?

Although ironically one of the first furry icons was Kimba, The White Lion (known to westerners as Simba, the Lion King)

I take it you sit down from time to time, am I right?

is that not you giving up your "god-given" right to walk?

The only problem I have with it is the potential abuse of people's trust. By her act (or omission) people may have been lead to believe certain things about her and she is facilitating the continuing of that mistaken belief.

Hey, I grow several bonsai. Granted they came from china originally but it's more popular in Japan.

Not sure how that was ironic, are you saying Simba was a human who's a furry?

Ironic as in the first furry wasn't a typical purple, big-eyed wuss but a magnificent white lion, analogous to your example of a vicious cheetah furry.

I think this perspective is somewhat invalidated by the fact that she allows people to continue to believe that she is paraplegic, and wears the knee braces etc too. If she were just getting around sat down in a wheel chair for comfort purposes, I think it'd be a lot more acceptable, but there seems to be more too it than that.

which perspective?

the one where she's misleading people?

Or the one where sitting down amounts to giving up the right to stand?

I can't see any contradiction between your post and mine.

I can understand the hobo one. Living without any real responsibilities and outside all your stressful connections related to work.

The wheelchair lady well, that just screams attention ***** to me. Which is normal woman behavior. Just a strange way to do it.

Sorry, I didn't read all of your post properly. What I meant was that she clearly is abusing peoples trust, I don't think there's any viable case otherwise... it even seems to me that that's her motive for doing it.

apparently all i have to do is type the word "god" and all of a sudden i am an idiot.

all i meant was that she was born with the ability to walk and still retains that ability. it would be a shame not to use it or shun it entirely.

i dont believe that the omission of the fact that she can walk is immoral at all. if she is doing it so that people will treat her better, the fault lies with the other people, treating those who appear to be handicapped differently or better than they treat others the consider to not be handicapped. does that make sense?

I'd want to be called "Drunk Pete" or "On'rey Pete" or some other version of Pete. Probably Drunk Pete because, if I was a hobo, I'd be drunk all the time.
