I'm just curious. There has been alot of times when the economy seemed ****ed and people were all saying that it was the end or whatever.

The 70's was bad because of the 3 day work weeks. And it had some similar problems to us now. I'm just using that as an example.

I think the only reason people think it's so bad now is because of the access to the information and the speed of said access. I still think the access to information is good, although it makes things abit more confusing.

So, what do you guys'n'gals think?

I'll make a poll.

Btw, 'maybe' is the last option.

By some standards, its the worst. In some ways, its better.

I don't think were anywhere near american depression era status though.

Better than the 30's bro. What we need is a nice big war to boost the economy and curb the population a little, save some resources for the kiddies.

Disease is nature's way of regulating population
War is man's way of regulating population

But we could all just be gay and get along.

The economy is constantly fluctuating, but it is certainly at a low right now. That's as much as I need to know right now.

My pet rock died last night. We buried him in my yard this morning

He was old though. Nearly 5 billion years old.

Everything is always either the worst it's ever been or the best it's ever been. According to the TV.

Well, the world economy is far more interdependent. And technology and financial deregulation make it far more sensitive to market fluctuations. So when shit goes bad, I think it does go bad faster, more widely, and worse than at any point since WW2.

I think it's all relative and reminds me of my favorite "economy" saying...

A recession is when your neighbor is out of work.
A depression is when you're out of work.

We're like 2% or 3% below our GDP of a few years ago. Exaggeration is an art and the Media have refined it.
