So I got a Gator extreme case, which in turn apparently isn't "extreme" enough to fit my jackson warrior. Yes, I know...Big mistake...

Anyway, Ive made it work - the guitar now "fits" as well as I'm going to get it. (the case comes with a bunch of foam pieces that correspond to your guitar's model.

HOWEVER - when I close the case it pushes my guitar's neck down, thus pushing the body up - off the surface a bit. HOW DO FIX THIS?

I don't want to sell it to buy another, for fear of losing money.

Doesn't seem like a good idea to put a guitar in a case that pushes the neck down. If you F up the guitar, you'll lose a lot more money than the case cost.

doing that pushes the body out of the boundaries of the foam pieces...

Damn. I'm guessing there's a pocket that holds the neck. Would it be possible to make it lower?

exactly, I had just made a thread about that until I took it down when a flaw was pointed out.

What do you recommend? I was thinking about using a rubber mallet?

err.... is it to late to return the case and buy one that fits?

The only real answer to the SG vs Les Paul debate is to get a Flying V and laugh at all the suckers who don't have one.

What is the neck support made out of? If it's just foam, an exacto knife would probably be your best bet. A mallet might actually break or chip it if it's not strong.

I bought it off ebay... I looked up the shipping prices for a package of that size, and it wouldn't be worth it. I've debated pawning it or selling it to sam ash, but I don't know if they even buy cases, or if they'd give me a fair price.

well is the case still under warranty by gator? i believe that if it is, you can exchange it at any gator dealer, samash being one. i had an issue similar to mine

I think the exacto knife would be the way to go. However, obviously I'd have to get it right the first time! also I dont know what I'd cover the exposed foam with and how...
