Hi, I used to use a Boss BR900CD for recording, but it's broken. So now, I'm thinking of recording straight into my laptop on to Audacity or Reaper or something like that. 'm a bit new to recording, but what do I need to put between the microphone and the computer? A mixer? Or an interface with a USB or something like that? I'd like to find one fairly cheap if possible. Thanks in advance.

Mics usually need a preamp to work, so what you need is a USB interface with a preamp, that would be the easiest, some mixers have this function too, go for something along the lines of the M-Audio Fast Track Pro
