I got this as a gift from a friend who knew nothing more than it's a Johnson dobro guitar from what he believes is the late 60's, or so he was told. It says Johnson on the headstock. And that's the only writing we could find on it. It was in his basement for the longest time, origin unknown.

Just looking for more information and maybe what it's worth since the local music shop was no help at all.

Well it's a resonator guitar, if you haven't figured that out yet.

I found a site that sells them new for about 300$

either way your gonna need a big bucket... how you set it under the horse is up to you.

They appear to be a lower-priced line, probably Asian. Most of the reviews seem pretty good...

I have a 300 dollar resonator myself, a "Rogue", and it's fine.

Clean it up, re-string, and enjoy.

The Johnson guitar company has only been around since 1993 so it's not a 60's model.
