Hi UG members!
I would really appreciate your help. I am trying to record myself with a guitar backing track but I'm having a hard time getting a good quality sound. Does anyone have some advice.
Here is my equipement:
Alesis multimix 8 (usb mixer) used as an external sound card as well
I have a shure PG57 mic for my Marshall MG15FX amp.
I mic my amp and send it to the computer via USB. I record with Audacity.
Thank you very much

Just record straight into the Multimix, using an amp simulator. The MG is a cheap amp that really isn't going to sound good, no matter what you do to it. You'll get much higher quality with an amp sim.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.
