I posted a thread here about a week ago with an NGD to a Gibson Nighthawk Studio. Unfortunately with me being so tall and the NH being so small, I had to return it for an exchange due to it causing me back pain for the awkward way I had to sit with it.

I exchanged it for a new Fender American Standard HSS Strat. I was a bit reluctant to switch back to single coils, but my last Strat from years ago was MIM with an SSS config. I figured having a humbucker in the bridge position, it would allow a bit more versatility with the sound. Here is some porn for you:

New Fender SKB TSA-approved flight case that comes standard with their American guitars now:

It's the quality you would expect from an American-made Fender. The playability is out of this world and the 3-tone sunburst is absolutely beautiful. The 2 single-coils are the Tex-Mex staggered and the humbucker is the Diamondback. All three have a pretty hot output and can really be used in any combination to pull off any genre.

I still haven't made up my mind to lock the trem back, but the guy at GC was nice enough to give me some free springs if I did choose to. The guitar itself came with a cable, strap, trem bar, marketing materials and the owner's manual.

I must say, I am truly impressed with the craftsmanship that was poured into this. The setup came perfect and everything just felt "right"; low action, no buzz. I played it for about an hour on a Deluxe Reverb before I finally made the decision to go for it. I might end up changing the bridge HB with something a tad hotter like a CrunchLab, who knows.

Yes I was rude, and I was aggressive and I was offending a large group of people. But I was civlized about it.

That's the kind of Sunburst that I wish I could find!
Actually, I go by Dave, but there are already too many Daves on this forum.

Like an American made version of mine!

And didn't you say the nighthawk was comfy in your thread, despite the fact that you're lanky?

She insists to wear this lights.

I don't think so.

How can I persuade her?

No I think I mentioned it as one of my gripes. It got worse the longer I sat down with it :/. Shame though, the Burstbuckers were oh so nice!

So jealous. That is one of the most beautiful machines I have ever seen. Treat it right or I will be angry with you.

I'm not a fan of Strats but if I bought one, that's exactly what it would be.

nice strat ( come from a 2004 hss u.s.a strat owner

very great guitar .

the diamondback humbucker is a good "all around" humbucker ( dc resistance around 10-11 id say )t to a dunc . they are trying to please everyone .. but i end up switching it to a duncan distortion sh-6 to get more balls for metal/punk rock .

great guitar dude .

a bit different than the older standard .. but im sure its nice .

You know, to be honest with ya man, I don't think the Diamondback is going to be staying in this guitar for very much longer. It is just too bassy for my tastes.
