Hey all not sure if this is the right place to put this but I have a very annoying hum coming from my guitar when plugged in, however when i touch either of the pickups, even if it's not the ne being used the hum stops, what is the culprit here? I was thinking it may have something to do with the fact that my tailpieve isn't grounded?

Any ideas?

Bad earth normally causes this (so yeah, your tailpiece), as I used to have it my guitars. Also, bad electronics (wiring to pots, pick-ups ect) could be bad. One fix I use is to line the cavities in the wood with copper. This does wonders to stop the hum, though it does mean talking things out of the guitar.
