What would you say is the best low gain distortion? I don't play any metal or really anything harder than some alt/punk but I would like a good harder o.d. or low gain distortion. I currently have a Boss Blues Driver for some basic O.D. and mainly use it to just thicken up my tone a bit (I use a one P-90 Les Paul Junior through a Kustom Defender 5w at home or Fender Hot Rod deluxe for gigs). Try to keep it under $200 if possible

i don't play metal either and i have a Rat2 pedal for any distortion i need. it can get pretty disgusting but can get really thin when you ratchet the drive back. sounds great coming out of a fender amp too, cheap as well.

might be worth a look, i'm not really into distortion I'm more into OD so hopefully some others will chime in as well.

^^ ah you did sig me

depends on how you distinguish a low gain distortion and high gain overdrive, but i'm guessing a fulltone ocd (or clone... the joyo one's quite good for like no money at all ) would work.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Looks like it.

And +1 to the Fulltone OCD.

For edgy low gain tones I prefer to push the EQ on my amp via an OD or EQ pedal. Pushing the highs adds bite without the saturation of the gain knob. I use the lower end controls to fill the rest of sound out.

But I can agree that the OCD is indeed a beast.
Maximum volume yields maximum goats.

Are Jekyll&Hyde OD's still under $200? Not recommending really, but it is something else to look into.
Actually, I go by Dave, but there are already too many Daves on this forum.
