Standard tuning, lowered standard, dropped tuning, or some other kind of herp derp led-zeppelin-kashmir tuning.

I like things nice and plain and thus I am a standard man.

EDIT: Poll up.

I play mostly in E Standard or Open C. But I like B Standard as well, I use some Drop D, and I've messed around with Double dropped A (A-E-A-D-F#-A), which is a ridiculous tuning. I would love to play in New Standard sometime too.

E standard is what I use the most. The tuning I find the nicest is probably open C, though.

Terrible poll. I picked e standard, but I also like open-c and DGDGAD.

Lulzy comment, both of those correspond to the fourth option.

I play in the tuning of IdrgAF
Basically meaning that my guitar is out of tune but I play it like that anyways.
This is what happens when you play bass first. Oh, and when you listen to Shoegaze and Sonic Youth.
#17
E standard or Drop D because my strings can't handle anything lower.
Trust me, I'm a Jedi.

I've really been getting into B standard, but C standard is sick too.

Depends on how I'm feeling that day. Some days I'll grab my jackson which is in E standard. The next I might grab my explorer which goes from drop d to drop c, and the next day I might grab my ibanez 7 in b standard.

Open-C is not a derpy made up tuning. It's an open chord tuning. Everybody knows about them.

DGDGAD is a celtic/irish/scottish tuning. DADGAD is more common, however.
#25
I prefer a half step down on my electric
When I play acoustic I make up my own tunings which ends up with me finding awesome chord voicings and melodies I wouldn't come up with otherwise

If at first you don't succeed, play bass.

what is the poll's definition of a "dropped tuning"? What is "Not-E Standard"?
Would C F A# D# G C (standard down 2 steps) count as both?

D standard is best. AGCFAD is cool too. And B standard has always been a favorite.

I had no idea so many people used tunings that weren't standard or dropped ones until I read this thread.
