I play classic rock, a little funk and a smidge of metal. I play through a Marshall MA series amp on distortion channel. My strat handle all of this very nicely but the bridge pickup is lacking a little punch. What would be a good humbucker to put in that spices up the tone a little but doesnt totally erase that strat sound?

You could get a humbucker with 4 wires and do a push/pull pot. The DiMarzio 36th PAF sounds really good when split as well as excellent when used as a humbucker.

Well, any Strat with a single coil in the middle and a five way selector is going to retain the classic Strat sound. It won't matter what you put in the bridge, because you can just switch the middle pickup on and get the same tone, just a little thicker.
