Hey

I am having issues with my sound at the moment it just lacks so much power... bends dry up which really pisses me off.

It feels like real effort for legato to be clear on pulloffs causing it to be quite hard work. Yet when listening to other guitarists sounds their guitars are very powerful even to the slightest touch its got a great sound but mine is dull.

My current rig is guitar > GT8 > 6505 peavy. But i think ditching my GT8 might be the best idea for an over drive pedal instead.

Would that likely boost the sound on the guitar and its overall response ?

It sounds like you need more practice, and your guitar setup.
A the right od can do wonders if used right on a 6505 but Ive awlays prefered the 6505 without one thats just personal preference though.

What settings are you using now?
6505s are pretty easy amps to dial in too.

I usually have the pre gain at 5, post whatevers suitable.
mids between 3-5
treble-5
bass-6

Are your tubes in bad shape? That could be part of the problem

How do you have the GT-8 plugged into it? Use the 4-cable method. Also, are you running the amp on the rhythm channel or the lead channel?
