I'm looking to buy a keyboard. I don't know how to play yet. It needs to have a pitch bend wheel and preferably a modulation wheel too. I'm looking at Casio CTK-5000. Go.

Well, then we're making progress. What's your budget?

I don't live in the US and instruments here are ridiculously overpriced. But it should be around what CTK-5000 costs(I guess $300 or so).

It depends on what kind of application you're using the keyboard for. If it's as a MIDI controller, it might be better to get something comprehensive like the Korg Kontrol 49. But if you're gonna use it to play a lot, I suggest getting one with good weighted keys like a real piano, because unweighted keys gets really uncomfortable after a while despite feeling lighter and easier to press down. You need the right kind of resistance from the keys to get an accurate performance.

...modes and scales are still useless.

I don't know how to play yet so I don't think I would buy something too expensive.

From experience, Casios sound really shitty compared to other keyboards in the same price range.

Try a Yamaha PSR-E413 or PSR-E423 (Not sure if you could get this for under 300 though).
