Hey guys, super n00b question for you.

Regarding doing home recordings, what would I use to get the signal from my guitar to the computer. I don't want a standalone recording mixing board, I'd like to use recording software. I just wanna know what kind of mixing board would I use? A live EQ board? Like one that goes out to monitors? Fxck I feel dumb right now. Any help is appreciated. Thankns in advice.
