Well, the neck pickup in my strat died recently, so I've been trying to find a new pickup to replace it. I've narrowed it down to two pickups; the Dimarzio Area '58 and the Dimarzio Injector neck.

Now here is the issue...

I love the sound of single coils in the neck/middle position, but I also wouldn't mind a thicker sound to help balance out my bridge humbucker (Dimarzio Tone Zone, 250k pots). But at the same time I want something that can sound strat-like in the split positions rather than humbucker-like. I'm not sure which way to go on this.
The Injector would make the guitar more versatile especially for heavier music, but a true single coil would help keep the more strat like tone..

Any thoughts?

This is terrible advice. Even worse than the useless dry, sarcastic comment I made.
