Alright so I'm trying to replace a potentiometer on my jackson, and I just ordered one and it is way too thick. My serymour duncan pots that came with a pickup I bought are too thick to (they're not the right ohms anyways).

So where the hell can I get a pot that will at least fit through the damn hole drilled in the guitar, or figure out what will and wont fit.

Dude, I'm just here to say that your title was, in a true-to-UG way, very misleading.

You may need mini pots. Where? Search online. They're not uncommon.

put some good masking tape on th top of the guitar and reem the holes bigger. if the pots that SD sent you will not fit in your guitar you have mini pots originaly and those are not good.
Put full sized pots in it and be done with it.

Not the pot itself, I'm talking about the threaded part being too thick.

I'd rather not drill holes mess with my jackson. I'll probably do that for my warlock which I'm repainting right now though.

I got a mini push pull pot for my warlock (which is also mini :|) and that doesn't even fit in either guitars. It's the same thickness as the new pot I got which, besides the pot itself being huge and missing a switch, is basically the same.

This is the regular pot and mini pot next to eachother, the threaded part is the same thickness for both. http://i39.tinypic.com/eticzt.jpg

Ream the holes then, if the pots are an uncommon post size you're not going to easily find replacements.

Just make the hole into a 1/4"hole by reeming it a little bigger.

I'm going to do this on my warlock, but not my jackson.

Pictures of your two pots for comparison, please.

I think I found a pot that will fit online, but here's a comparison of all three pots I've been talking about.
