50 GBs of music, almost 300 GBs of movies and some software here and there.

I honestly don't want to know the answer to TS's question.

Probably around $20,000. mostly music and a few textbooks. I'm too lazy to wait for movies to finish downloading.

I might as well chip in:
I personally feel piracy is wrong, but I have previously downloaded bits and pieces. A few albums, essentially. Probably about 10 albums at most.
Never downloaded a film or tv series, though have once or twice streamed a bit of TV.

I have downloaded a couple of games, but only ones I have at some point in my life owned but lost, or ones that I have later bought. So meh, not much.

However I've for some reason always felt comfortable borrowing CDs and ripping them, or borrowing people's mp3 players and getting their music. I guess really that's the same, but somehow it doesn't feel so to me.
Funnily I would feel uncomfortable copying a CD onto another CD, but not just onto my computer.

TS is a knob

used that Piracy Calculator, it's $6901.

that's... surprisingly low, actually.

I told myself that anything I pirated, I'd make up for by buying merch, because they see more of that money anyways... That didn't actually happen though.
#20
few hundred dollars in music.

i stream movies, does that count as pirating?

kind of the equivalent of sneaking into a movie theater...

i bet you didn't count the 50gb's of porn you have on your computer

Nothing more than a mere thousand I believe; perhaps even less. I tend to use Spotify to listen to music and download only if I wish to have the music on my Mp3 player.

Oh god someone who isn't me almost fills up his 300gb/month limit once in a while.
Can't count how many seasons/ movies that is.

That calculator can't be anywhere near accurate though. Plenty of these shows are on reg. network tv and netflix which means any one can watch them with out spending thousands of dollars. On the other hand they can keep the files.

And let's say you download Photoshop you should add about $1000 to the count, but that thing obviously doesn't.
#27
Using that calculator thing, my music alone is worth $28000. Maybe a few hundred of that is legitimate.

Then again most of it's shit, so whatever.

I have no idea how I would estimate my films and TV shows, they're all on different hard drives and in random DVD cases, they've sort of piled up over the years but I'd say I've deleted far more than I currently own.

I haven't pirated that many games on release, maybe about 10, but I have hundreds of emulated games. Again, no idea how to calculate that, they're everywhere.

Oh yeah and I've never bought an OS or actually any form of software whatsoever in my entire life.

Holy shit I did not realise photoshop was that expensive o_O

For software, probably over 10k (All of which I never use nowadays). For music, I alway have about 50GB on my laptop, but I've done so much deleting and downloading over the years that I couldn't even fathom how much the total is. For TV and Film, I usually just stream stuff, so again, I wouldn't even have an inkling on where to start.

I have 1266 albums in my iTunes, but I've only got about 110 physical CDs out of those, and I've bought maybe 10 digitally. If we pretend an album costs $10-$20, I've probably got somewhere between $11,000 and $23,000 of music I didn't pay for. I've got a fair amount of DVDs and TV shows, probably about 30 movies along with all the seasons of Dexter, Dragonball Z, and the full series for The Pacific and Brothers In Arms. I'm just go to guess all that at about $1000. I've also downloaded programs, but the only ones I can think of that aren't free-ware or paid for are Superior 2.0 + Metal Foundry, and Guitar Pro 6. So that's another $340-$590, depending where you get Superior from.

Because some albums and movies cost less than others, the best estimate I've got for my piracy is about $18,000.

EDIT: And still didn't vote cause **** your polls.

Considering the RIAA has accused some pirates of "stealing" more money than there is in the entire world, none of the poll options are really sufficient.

If you add the porn to that... yeah. So much money.

Got about $40000 on the piracy calculator but my music amount was a total guess since I haven't downloaded any ever since I got spotify when that was released. I don't have any of the tv seasons I've watched saved on my computer but I did stream them online since the UK doesn't ever show things like prison break and breaking bad
