A grilled cheese sandwich is an art form. How much butter does one coat the outside of the bread with? How dark do we let the sandwich get? A black, burnt crunch or a brown, toasty crunch? What cheese do we use? Cheddar? Pepper Jack? American? Do we add meat such as roast beef, ham, or pepperoni? Discuss the most underrated sandwich ever created.

I like mine with cheddar, lightly toasted, either with pepperoni, pastrami, or just solo cheese.

I prefer to skip everything but the cheese. Including the bread.

Enough butter to coat the bread without making it wet. The whole bread should be buttered, but there shouldn't be places where you could leave a thumbprint in it, for example. Then it's either mild cheddar or provolone cheese, bacon and turkey optional.

Mayo>>>>>>butter for grilled cheeses.

Cheddar or american, and lightly toasted, just like everything else. I can't stand that charred shit.

Mayo goes on the inside, butter goes on the outside--you'd have a smelly, burny mess if you replaced the butter with mayo.

Bit of oil in pan.
Chedder and bread.
heat in pan til turning black.
Add sauce if one desires.
get it doon ye.

Yes. That is how one gets the toasty part of the sandwich.

oh, i just toast the bread, its plenty toasty and far healthier.

Ichi, how in the flying **** do you make your grilled cheese?

I put the cheese and what not in the bread then toast/grill it

idk why you'd put butter on it
just chuck it in the fryer next time
#21
Toasted well with quite a bit of butter. American cheese is the best here, but that's the only time.

Grilled sub, add lots of butter (real butter not that low fat crap). Bacon it up with a packet of bacon add chicken fried in breadcrumbs, grate cheese on to it, half a packet of smoked ham a fried egg and a little more grated cheese on top. Heat it a little to melt the cheese. Feed it to the cat, and then eat the cat. NOM NOM NOM NOM.

1. I was forced to make grilled cheese without butter yesterday because I had none, and it made for very disappointing sandwiches. That's why we would put butter on it.

2. You can't use the excuse that it's healthier when you obviously didn't even realize that people butter grilled sandwiches. Hell, you're rolleyes smilee doesn't make any sense either when you're clearly in the minority on what makes a good sandwich.

3. Wtf, butter your damn sandwiches, man!

- Regular cheese/whatever cheese I have. (if mozzarella I add basil as well)
- some black pepper on cheese
- brown toasty
- sometimes unions grilled within
- spicy ketchup sauce on the side (or sweet&sour chili sauce)

I take the bread, toast it, butter it, whack on some tinned mackerel in sunflower oil, and put under the grill for a few minutes. I put the cheese in the bin because cheese is disgusting and just smells like something that has gone off

I've noticed alot of people put bacon on thier grilled cheese, that sounds heavenly. I usually put a little bit of onion or tomato in mine.

I wish mom would let me put bacon on my grilled cheese.

Fact: this is the world's best grilled cheese-type product.

You buy it at Jack in the Box and if you're drunk it's the best flavor in the god damn world. And yes it's got fukken butter on it. It's Jack in the Box, not Jack Grew Up under a Rock.
