Now it looks like this : http://www.heybrookmusic.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/4/1/41669_l_1.jpg

And I wanna change it into an all glossy-black thing like this one :

(Invalid img)

What kind of gloss-finish paint do I need for the body and the pickguard ? (I guess I need two different kind of paint). And can I just paint over the old paint of my guitar ? Or do I really need to scrape off the actual paint in order to repaint it black ?

Theres an Ultimate (Re)Finishing Thread around here somewhere. (Just check the stickies.)

But why do you want to give it a new paint job? Everyone has black guitars, why not stand out a bit and rock out with a blue one?
I pride myself on my humility.

I have found that automotive acrylic laquer pait is the best budegt paint.

You can paint over the old, but you need to scuff the guitar really good with sand paper first.

Get gloss black paint, and gloss clear

I really like it black. (no homo)
And I irrationally hate white pickguards.

Thank you for the suggestion though, I'll check that topic.

Painted pick guards look like crap, just lay down the $15 and buy a black one.

You can always buy a sheet of pickguard material and trace yours out and custom make it.

make it look like the entire finish is cloudy looking, then wipe it down with rubbing alcohol to get all the particles off. wait 30 min + untill you start the painting process.

Hey Robb, I couldn't find that automotive paint you suggested. Would this be ok as well ? http://www.vernicispray.com/vernicispray/scheda_prodotto.jsp?cat=100&subcat=40&id=1966&fin=1&utilityanni=&ccolor=&lang=en

It could, but that is acrylic enamel it drys very soft.
Where do you live? In the US I just go to Discount Auto Parts and get the Dupli-Color brand Acrylic Laquer.

reguardless of what type paint you use, make sure that you use the same type of clear coat also, don't mix paint types.
