I recently bought the audiobox USB recording package:

The microphone is intended for use with vocals and acoustic guitars, but whenever I use either of them, I get an annoying whine in the background.

I uploaded a sample of the sound:

Can anybody tell me how to eliminate that noise? It's no use recording anything at the moment, especially because the whine compounds when I layer anything.

Thanks in advance.

Does it do this when your not playing?
It sounds like part of the microphone is sympathetically resonating in tone with the notes

It only does it when there's sound being captured. If I just let the microphone sit and record the room, it's crystal clear and silent.
