hey i'm new to soldering and i'm in need of some help. basically, how do i get a metal volume pot off a starter bc mockingbird? (1 hum 1 vol)

it doesn't have a screw on the side like some tele's. i was about to replace it with a 500k volume pot and so far i've managed to get the ground wire off of it. also, the original pot isn't secure to the wood, so would the larger new pot be no problem?

any advice is appreciated in advance thank you!!

Is it a CTS pot? That's not going to fit. You're going to have the ream the pre-existing hole a little bit. Import guitars use smaller pots.
