after listening for a little bit, it seems he gets his tone from turning his treble high, and his bass and mid's about the same level on an eq, that would be the first place to start, obviously every bass and amp combination can sound different, so playing around with your eq settings start by putting all of the knobs about mid level and turning the higher end frequencies up gradually. Also using a pick will help generate this sound. (this is a starting point only)

When I saw them he was just using the old P bass and Ampeg Fridge combo. Split coil pickups and aggressive picking should get you close.
