Ok, so I get home last night to come home to my first new ibby. I have close to 20, but never bought a new one lol. I didnt get alot of time with it so far cause I got in so late, but here is my short review so far.

First off, the thing came in set up great, just had to tune it, and the action is low with no buzz. Now the most impressive thing about this guitar is the fretwork. It seems to be better than all my others, including my 2550. The neck kinda reminds me of the 2550, however I wish it was a maple board, but maybe the other anniv models will get maple.
The pickups sound better than I expected. The ibz's dont sound like the ones that came in my 2550 originally. The bridge pu is pretty hot, and the neck is warm sounding. Produces harmonics really well. I will probably swap them out for a liquidfire/crunchlab combo and put these in a s that I am building.I will know more when I get to spend more than 30 minutes playing it thru the mesa.

The bridge I am still on the fence about, I still prefer the original edge, but this may grow on me. Just need some more time.

So, I think its a great guitar for the money. Is it a j custom? No, but it is a great bang for the buck.

That is waaaaay more pink than I expected. Whats up with the truss rod cover? Does it swing open rather than unscrew?

Happy NGD!
What?! There's a clean channel on my amp?!

Porno pink is the best colour for a super-Strat. Good pick.
Yes, I know everything. No, I can't play worth a damn.

Absolutely love the colour of that thing. I wish Ibanez would bring back more colours like this.

The sharktooth inlays actually dont seem so bright as they do in pictures. However I was playing in low light last night.

Looks so awesome. Sorry to go slightly off topic, but how does your 2550 compare to your 550? I'm thinking of buying one or the other some time soon.

Honestly, I never play the 2550, I actually have it for sale on cl. You know sometimes a guitar just doesnt jive with you......well this one didnt. Even after I put new dimarzios in it too. The 550 however I love, love the edge, love the maple board.

How do you compare these pick ups to a popular Dimarzio combo like Air Norton/Tone Zone?
Can you tell me something about their EQ and output levels (roughly) compared to those pick ups?

Thanks.

I only have a single coil air norton, and dont have a tonezone at all. And honestly, I havent played it plugged up enough to give you a good answer. All I can say is I was surprised with how hot the bridge pickup was.
