In the next couple weeks I'm gonna be recording drums for the first time. I've recorded vocals and guitar many many times, so I'm not new to recording in general. I would like some opinions on what mics to use where; I've got a mixer that supports four inputs, so that's the max I can use.

I've got:
Blue Bluebird condenser mic
Blue EnCore 200
Heil Sound "The Fin"
MXL 990
Samson C05
Shure SM57

My drummer has:
One ride/ One hi-hat
Two crashes
Two toms
One snare and one kick

Any opinion would be very appreciated. Thank you!

Give 10 UGers a rope and ask them to pull. 4 will push, 1 will ask for buttsecks, 2 will tell you get an Ibanez and the last 3 will start complaining about Line6 Spiders.

are any of those mics good for bass cabs/amps? cos the same would do for the kick aswell

That's pretty sound reasoning. I'll have to play around a little bit with my bass stack and see which sounds best. Thank you!
