I was bored in class today and started refreshing my memory of the psychologists I learned about in High School. I got to wondering which one you all are most interested in, who's your favorite?

Here's some info if you're unfamiliar with or want to learn about some of the most prominent ones.

They're missing Carl Jung, and Carl Jung was a badass so i'm mentioning him here. My favorite is probably Carl Rogers though, followed by Jung.

When we would watch educational videos of experiments and such in my HS psych classes, Zimbardo was always the narrator and I concluded that he basically looks like what i'd imagine Lucifer looking like. That prison experiment is so damn creepy.

Cognitive Dissonance is a major player in psychology, and Festinger needs to be recognized more.

Albert Ellis is a notable omission from your list. I picked Rogers instead, he was just lovely.

Also, WTF, you're missing Wilhelm Wundt, the actual father of Psychology.

Freud was a brilliant man with utterly untestable/disturbing ideas and theories. I think he was just acting like everyone was as fucked up as he was.

I like Skinner's Pigeon behavior study. i chuckle to myself at the thought of a bunch of caged pigeons all doing weird rituals b/c they think it's what makes food dispense from the timed dispenser

Jennifer Melfi!

nvm, she is psychiatrist.
On playing the Paul Gilbert signature at the guitar store extensively, my missus sighed:
"Put it down now, It's like you love that guitar more than me!"
In Which I replied.
"Well it has got two F-Holes!"

You're pulling a Freud.

You have to agree that on some level you actually understand what he was talking about.

Maybe the id, ego, and superego, but the Oedipus/Electra complex thing is so ridiculous. Even the stages of psychosexual development are weird although much more believable.
