No joke.

The actress-comedian said in a statement that she's a longtime supporter of the party and looks forward to working with people who share her values. She said the two major parties aren't serving the American people.

"The Democrats and Republicans have proven that they are servants -- bought and paid for by the 1 percent -- who are not doing what's in the best interest of the American people," Barr said.

Occupy Wall Street protesters popularized the "We are the 99 percent" slogan in their fight against economic disparity and perceived corporate greed.

Barr has submitted paperwork to the Green Party for her candidacy. The party's presidential nominee will be selected at a convention in Baltimore in July.

Barr said she has been fighting for working-class families and women for decades.

"I will barnstorm American living rooms," she said in a candidate questionnaire submitted to the Green Party. "Mainstream media will be unable to ignore me, but more importantly they will be unable to overlook the needs of average Americans in the run-up to the 2012 election."

I don't know who this woman is, but I do know that this:

"She said the two major parties aren't serving the American people.

"The Democrats and Republicans have proven that they are servants -- bought and paid for by the 1 percent -- who are not doing what's in the best interest of the American people," Barr said."

Is correct?

What constitutes Political Experience? Why is it relevant to being president? Some of the best politicians of all time had no political experience. If anthing it's an advantage in the US system where having political experience means you're probably corrupt.

You've seen Futurama, no?

Think back to the episode where Kif lost his watch to Mushu. Skip forward to when Kif is now in prison and that holographic woman explains to him what Ambergris is. That's Roseanne. It also says her name in the episode.

She was pretty huge here back in the 90s for her sitcom show with John Goodman, appropriately named Roseanne.

I wish I could have used this brain space and time for something more useful.

I'm only saying due to the fact that I would like to see someone who knows about politics running instead of someone who might not know anything.
I don't really mean political experience in the sense of actually being a politician, I want to know if she actually knows anything about politics. I've never seen/read anything about her as far as her politics go, so I'm just a little skeptical.

You have to know the system you're working with and have working relationships with other people in power, mainly in Congress. A president is rendered very weak when his interests do not align with that of the House or Senate. This requires a significant amount of positive political experience.

Isn't that what campaigns are for? I mean, if everyone already knew everything about the Political Candidates then we could just have the bloody election next Wed
