Definitely seems like it to me...

The first part of the song has a Bb powerchord and the main riff does not have any sharps found in the D major key...

But then when it progresses to the solo...the solo uses F# and C# and the chord
progression is a common I, vi, IV, V.

Any thoughts? I have not really heard of this before! Ive heard of using the relative minor but not the parallel minor in the same song except for borrowing things here and there.

modulation to the parallel major/minor is extremely common.

I'm not sure how many times it has to be said, but the fiddly stuff on top of a chord progression has little to no bearing as to where the progression resolves.

Post the actual chords of the song, and explain why certain parts are in different keys.
And no, Guitar Hero will not help. Even on expert. Really.

The beginning section starts on an A power chord, then to Bb then to C...sounds like it
resolves on the A power chord to me...

But then the lead solo section has D major, B minor, G major, and A major...and definitely resolves back to D major.

^^^ Nice work. Which part is in D minor?

The lead solo section will be in D major however you say the intro feels resolved on A, you may hear it differently than me but its more likely that its a v vi vii in D minor. Very strong resolution to D minor
