To export a GP5 drum track as an Mp3 if I just download the song from UG...

Make sure only the drum track is on (mute the others or press the S button on the drum track in GP) and then go File - Export - MIDI. Once the drum MIDI is exported, find it wherever you put it and open it with itunes. Then right click the track and select "create mp3".
If it doesn't say mp3, if it's another kind of format then go Edit - Preferences - General - Import Settings - Import Using Mp3 Encoder and then right click the song and convert to mp3. This is all assuming you have the latest itunes.

For guitar (I guess it'll have to be graded 'easy' given last months entries -- wow, guys!):
Natural Elements by Acoustic Alchemy

For intermediate bass:
Bach Sonata in Gm arranged for bass by who knows. I got the notes from a midi file, been meaning to learn it for a long time.

Advanced guitars: In The Presence of Enemies by DT. I plan on performing it live on the 15th so it will be a live recording.

And can someone give me a second opinion please, I would like to do Forgive and Forget by Miss May I. I consider it easy as there is nothing in there that is challenging, but can someone give me a second opinion please.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RQzomsa1IY&ob=av3e

If that constitutes easy then I'll also submit Existence by August Burns Red under intermediate.

Personally, I wouldn't say that's easy.

I might have some more time this month, and it's early in the competition so I should be able to do it now. I guess I'll try Sunlit Nights by Racer X, the tabs call it advanced, so I guess I can call it that.

Hey, can I switch mine to My Will Be Done - Unearth. Guitar, intermediate (?).

Not sure if the intermediate rank is appropriate. I'd say MAYBE advanced but probably intermediate.

I'd consider that easy, there's really nothing challenging in there. Kick ass song though! I've discovered a new band due to you. Thanks

Haha they're great, new album soon as well

Ok I guess it's up to Niejel, do you mind checking out that song and decide what difficulty it is? You may want to check the tab but really the only part remotely challenging is alternate picking 16ths at 120.

Really? There's only really one lick in there that actually seems like it'll give me trouble...

That's definitely advanced. I heard the first few seconds and decided that. And if there's only one lick to give you trouble, then you're getting better, which is the whole idea of this competition.

If I wasn't confined to 6 strings I would love to do an Unearth song, probably The Chosen, I love it's solo, but I don't have sufficient string capacity for the rest.

I want a song that has lots and lots of cool riffage, and would fit in the intermediate tier.

Basically, something like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJI5lvODcdk

I'd play that, but I don't like tuning to a Drop tuning, because I have other stuff to practice as well that's in standard, not drop.

Any suggestions?

I don't see a problem there, unless you have locking tuners or something, which you probably do if you don't like doing a switch like that.

You could try out some Buckethead. I realize it's not really the same style as what you posted, but he's got plenty of intermediate stuff if you look around, with plenty of riffage if you really know where to look.

I'm currently actually in D standard. Any standard is fine, since I'll just adjust the backing track accordingly.

Charlie, that Miss May I song could be intermediate. The alternate picking says it all.

And My Will Be Done is Advanced. DAT INTRO and SOLO.

Cheers.

Intermediate. I'd love to learn this myself but I have yet to find an accurate tab for the djenty section towards the end.

Same here Random. No one tabs that part right..and I hate learning stuff by ear.

If all else fails, my ears are fairly good.

EDIT: Took forever but I figured it out. None of the tabs anywhere are even remotely close. I'll probably tab it at some point just so there's a more accurate one available.
