Hey guys, I'm working on a video project for school and I wanted to use some really old timey song like from back in the 1920s-30s or whatever. You know, like those bluesy songs with trumpets and whatnot. The kind that have the authentic really old record crackle audio quality?

To give an example of what I mean here's Bessie Smith's "Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MzU8xM99Uo

Except I'd prefer something instrumental. Can anyone give me any good songs to use? I'm sorry for how ridiculously vague this sounds, but I've got the type of sound I'm looking for in my head, but I don't exactly know how to describe it well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And the more depressing it sounds the better... it's for a rather depressing video I have to make.

This song is old as shit. The quality if really bad. Sorta fuzzy. Is that what you're looking for?
I think that thing going "neeee neeee neee neee" in the beginning is a trumpet or baritone sax or sackbut or something.
The piece features African American singers, These people are known for being sad or "blue" and singing sad songs such as or like that one.

Idk if this is from the time period or later, but either way its a damn good song. Not depressing sounding tho...

Yeah, it's a little too upbeat for what I'm looking for.

Like it's for my film and media class and we're doing a 30-second PSA and my group is doing it on Elder Abuse and I had this idea of using one of those kinds of songs to add to the context of the message we're trying to get across. And since elder abuse is really rather depressing, the more depressing sounding the song, the better.
