DragonForce guitarist Herman Li said,

“The last two years have been the most fun we ever had making an album. Through writing, jamming and touring together, we have built this incredible energy and it has been fully captured on the new album.

This time around we’ve really brought our metal side to the surface and made some of the best music of our career. From the fastest song we’ve ever recorded to the slower songs, and some things you would never expect from us, this is by far the most diverse DragonForce album yet.”

“The Power Within” will be released on April 15th 2012 via the band’s own Electric Generation Recordings, distributed by Essential Music (UK), Roadrunner Records (North America), 3Wise (Australia) and JVC Victor (Japan).

Li added, “This is an exciting new era for DragonForce with Marc joining the band, so we figured this was an ideal time to take full control of our own destiny and establish our own record label for Europe. It’s all hands on deck running it, but a great buzz!”

The full tracklisting is as follows:

2. Fallen World
3. Cry Thunder
4. Give Me the Night

This is wonderful and fascinating news and I thank TS for sharing such useful and mentally nourishing information which I care about greatly due to the hugely positive effect this album will have on the music world.

I was at a concert where they opened for one of the bands and all I could hear was ringing. It sounded awful. Dragonforce just needs to go away.

I think it would be hilarious if like Radiohead announced the details of a new album and they copied that word for word

Well then you have wax on your ears, because when i went to see them live at 2009 they were great! They arent able to play their songs very well, but they are very entertaining.

Please, they give themselves much more credit than that. If you haven't listened to King of Limbs, you don't know how smart they are.

...of course King of Limbs sucked, so that goes to show you...

Dude KoL and Amnesiac are their best albums. Completely serious.

And their my most played artist on last.fm, so I'm not making fun of Radiohead, just saying it would be funny if they did that.

Might actually give this a listen now that they have a new vocalist. DragonForce aren't really that bad but not really my type of metal, but Marc has a pretty powerful voice from what I've heard and they do have pretty good instrumentals so it could be pretty good I guess. If not then what can you do, it's DragonForce.

This.

Don't seem them live or you'll lose hope.

They forgot to mention that all of the guitar solos will be put together using over 9000 redubs and mashes of tracks.

I have been a power metal phaggot since I was 13 and was greatly disappoint when Dragonforce became the leading band of the genre, there are so many amazing guitar and keyboard shredders among the cheese in most flower metal. Sonata Arctica live was so perfect, the sound quality of the venue was kind of poor but they still did everything spot on.
