What is the best kind of software used as practice? Teachers are to expensive, I might get one later but for right now, I just want something I can do online.

Teachers are worth the money. If you just want to learn songs, guitar pro is really good, but not free. Power tab is decent (and also free).
What?! There's a clean channel on my amp?!

It's a great program.

It's $60 ffs! The equivalent of a few sets of strings, one cheap pedal. a couple of decent cables...

There are free alternatives if you absolutely, positively can't afford it.

Yeah, you can pirate it, but why?

Some of us believe people deserve to get paid for their products. I am not ripping on piracy, but I don't practice it and will not recommend it.
