I am looking at getting an electric guitar. I have mostly been playing on acoustic but now i want to start playing more electric guitar. Any pointers as to what starter pack to get?

The stuff that comes in starter packs is awful. I've been down that route, and trust me, you don't want to.

What is your budget, and where are you located? We can help you find some good stuff for the money.

go to a local store and see if they will give you a good deal on several items. That is what I did. I got a ltd. F-100fm, practice amp, gig bag, and cable for pretty much the price of that guitar (which I still have, years later).

That would be the ideal situation anyways. If that is not an option, I agree with bboren.
What?! There's a clean channel on my amp?!

look a yamaha eg112 great value for money and can be found in combo with an amp
only 'downside' is that the neck will feel 'compact' once you start playing other guitars but this is not a huge drawback its really quite minor
