Hey everyone. I'm looking for a starter but somewhat sweet electric drum set. I have no previous experience, but have wanted to start drumming for years. I'm looking into an electric set, preferbly the Yamaha line. I'm budgeting under $2,000. Is the Yamaha line a good one to look at or are there better sets for that price range? Thanks.

Can't go wrong with any Yamaha or Roland (part from the HD1).
Both have pro's and cons but you can't really get better than those two.
If you go second hand on Ebay you can get much more bang for your buck as well.

I own the DTX550 and it is superb. Very good sounds, real hihat, fantastic 3 zone cymbals and snare.
