so i need a combo amp for jamming and small gigs and shit.

i live in new zealand, the main retailers are: musicworks.co.nz ; rockshop.co.nz and musicplanet.co.nz

im looking for a tone thats pretty 80s glam, but also does a bit of 80s metal with a side of 60s and 70s rock and shit.

budget is $700 NEW ZEALAND DOLLARS, but most likely about 500.

^i like Voxs, but im open to anything.

it needs to stand up with a drummer etc.
i would prefer used, but if you can find me a cool used amo, then sure.
pref tube, but will go SS if required.
_____________
ALSO, on a more urgent note, i need a mini amp to take to lessons etc.

i was looking at a danelectro honey tone, any others from those retailers ill take a look at.

thoughts on the honey tone? suggest something with a bit more crunch?

thanks all

well you always could go with the blackstar ht-40 those are versatile since u want to go to rock to metal and everything else. get a club 40 combo. i bet you can find them used too

for new the go for 699.99USD

Mini amp you say?

Get a vox AC4 combo very portable. goes all the way down to 1/4 of a watt so it should be good for your lesson room or whatever you do.

Jet City seems like it would do everything you want. I don't know what the JCA 50 watt runs in NZ, but if you could get it it wouldwork quite welll for you.

There's a "deal" on in Australia to get the JCA20 half stack for $699. Knowing NZ it'll be a cool grand.
It's an opinion. It's subjective. And I'm right, anyway.

what about bugeras? are they any good?

The new ones worth a look for sure, they are reliable now and copied from classic good amps.

Egnater, Laney, Orange, Fender. Just try to be sure you get a tube amp, with 15 to 50w you'll be ok, you can always mic a good amp (see if you can find a Peavey Vypyr 60 tube).
