Hello there,

I'v started playing guitar since, a believe thursday ( i know , i'm a total beginner).

I mostly watch tutorial video's on youtube, this one to be specific : http://www.youtube.com/user/G0liath1012?feature=g-user-u

You should definitly check him out, he teaches step by step fingerstyle guitar.

Anyway, the problem i'm facing now is that there is an difficult finger placement with the left hand. in this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&list=PL3E01069D112020ED&v=LqGCmVQXTMY#t=343s

Somehow you need to bar the third and fourth string on the second fret ( from the capo which is by the way on the 3rd fret) and then you need to put the ringvinger or the little finger on the fourth fret, on the second string from the capo.

Somehow this is impossible for me, not because of the length between the fingers but because when i bar the 3rd and 4rd string i dampen the 2nd string.

does anybody know any good exercises or anything to help me.

It's not you barring the strings that's dampening the 2nd string, it's a problem with how you're fretting the 2nd string. You're fretting it at a higher fret than the 3rd and 4th string so that would have nothing to do with it.

Junior's usually at least a little terse, but he knows his stuff. I've always read his posts in a grouchy grandfather voice, a grouchy grandfather with a huge stiffy for alternate picking.
Besides that, he's right this time. As usual.
