My favourite car when I used to play PGR. Not sure if it counts but boy is it something

apparently Corvettes don't count as muscle cars since they're only 2-seaters

Mercury Cyclone, and it's cousin, the Gran Torino.

Ford Falcon XB. Always been a little disheartening that we never got these in the States.

1970 Holden Monaro. Australia had some pretty boss cars that never made it over here.

#15
Wasn't the XB Falcon very similar design wise to the Mustang Mach 1 you guys got in the early 70's?

Also Holden and Ford AU have horrible fanbases who will mislead you. They're really badly built cars. Decent engines in some, but neither company could match fitting panels up until about 2005

It's similar, yes, and also has some similarities to the Gran Torino.

My dad has one of these, but all black.

It also has a engine like this, and is ****ing loud as shit.

Heck yeah, best muscle car ever made, designed originally as a stock car for NASCAR.

Dodge Vipers are not overrated, they were actually one of the best modern muscle cars ever made. You had to get special training on how to drive them because they had so much power.
#27
Most everyone here is posting the most commonly known muscle cars, which is kind of the opposite of this thread.

Just a few in mind that's not as talked about.

Not sure if it counts as a muscle car but AC/Shelby Cobra was one hell of a car. Just HEARING one makes my jaw hit the ground

If you're after some classic six-cylinder muscle the GNX is pretty hard to beat. Shame there are so few of them and that they're so expensive nowadays.

I suppose it's not really a muscle car, but I've always had a soft spot for the first year of the two-door Ford Maverick:

I love my '64 Fairlane 500. Don't see too many of them.

EDIT: ^I've got a '74 Maverick but it's got the straight six in it :/

muscle cars are really overrated (as far as going fast is concerned)

they're glorified trucks by modern standards, I think most people would be pretty underwhelmed to get behind the wheel of anything other than one of the really astronomically powerful ones.

on that note, the early muscle cars (Fairlaine Thunderbolts and the like) do not get enough attention, probably just because they don't look like muscle cars (save for the hood) but I think that's part of the charm, because those things were monsters.

also, Vipers are not muscle cars
