So I want to learn some math rock riffs. Is there anything like This Town Needs Guns or Native or something similar that I should learn to play? I want to learn some mathy riffs for techniques sake.

Any help is appreciated, and can be from any genre.

by 'mathy', you could mean a couple of things:
- Hard to PLAY: I'd suggest Periphery
- Changing time signatures : Blotted Science
- Funky Rhythms : again, Periphery

and then there's free jazz, which isn't even for musicians.

As my old guitar teacher once said: Metal really comes from classical music. The only difference is pinch harmonics, double bass, and lyrics about killing goats.

lol I learned All New Materials riff and some of the leads. And I did say any genre.

To clarify, I guess I want indie bands that use mathy, tappy, groovey riffs for rhythm. Like say, this song:

Have you learnt Times Tables?

Alteratively learn whatever you want to.
And no, Guitar Hero will not help. Even on expert. Really.
