A Swedish man has survived being trapped in his snow-covered car for two months without food, police say.

The car was found on Friday at the end of a forest track more than 1 km (0.6 miles) from a main road in northern Sweden.

Police say the temperature in the area had recently dropped to -30C (-22F).

The man, who was too weak to utter more than a few words, said he had been inside since 19 December. He may have survived by drinking melted snow.

Police say they have no reason to doubt his story.

Quite a feat. Must've been boring as hell, though.

One doctor told the newspaper that the man might have survived so long by going into a kind of hibernation.

Really? A doctor said that?
Yeah, now you're gonna die wearing that stupid little hat. How does it feel?

Help me to live.

That's awful. You've got to wonder how distant he is from his family, but yeah, that's really quite amazing. All balls to the guy!

I know swedish cuisine isn't exactly world renowned, but calling it "no food"? That's a bit harsh.

I knew this would be a BBC article.

Sucks to be him, though.

God.

Bit depressing that nobody realised he was missing. Seems his friends and family left him out in the cold.

Yeah exactly. You've got to wonder how disconnected he was/is from everyone. That's a little bit odd...

Maybe he was giving everyone around him the cold shoulder.

Maybe, but there's nothing in the article that gives off the impression that he's nothing more than your average, standard nice guy... :/

He could probably do with a (frost) bite after being left out in the cold for that long. It's snow joke, you know..

A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.'

Or perhaps simply that they were looking for him, but to no avail before today?

Well, yeah I considered that, but in the article there's no mention of the having previously looked for him or anything. I don't know...just a little bit odd.

They might've looked for him the first few days after he was reported missing (which I hope he was) and then just given up...

i think Jesus kept him alive

I should damn well think so too, after all, if Jesus is God and if God is infinately omnipotent, omniecent, ect, then God/Jesus must naturally have set into motion the series of events that led to this poor guy being stuck in his car for so long (starting with the big bang) knowing full well that his actions would result in this guy's suffering, so keeping him alive is the least that he could do.

Still, it may have been better if he'd have gotten help for him a little sooner.
