i just recently was given a Flextone III from my uncle who is not playing guitar anymore. so ive been messing around with it and noticed it has MIDI ports, but i dont know what to do with them, i have a Lexicon Omega interface w/ 2 MIDI ports with Cubase 5 as DAW. Im wondering what would be the best way to hook these together? or should i just put a line from the amp to the lexicon? when guitar is hooked in lexicon instrument jack, i have a very small latency issue, small but just enough to throw you off, would hooking my amp to lexicon fix the latency issue? for now i have just been recording through microphone in front of amp and it sounds good but it has to be loud to get a strong tone but thats hard to do at 3am. so i was trying to figure this out.

does anyone have a similar setup? any input would be great. thanks

I cant answer you question, but the Fextone amps are very under-rated amps by L6. They are basicly a striped down Vetta processor with less models/fx availible.

No problem

The Midi ports sre for setting patches in the amp so you can control them with a MIDI floor board if that was what your after.

I'm pretty sure there is a line out that is an XLR type that is designated for recording and patching throughthe PA am I correct? I don't have lots of experiance with the Flextone lines of amps.

I just looked up the manual and there are 2 XLR out puts for recording there is a left (mono) and a right if your going for true stereo fx.

These should be on the far right hand bottom of the back panel from what the manual showed.

You don't have the Fextone III you need to use the headphone out from what the Line 6 Flextone facts sheat says. so use a 1 1/4" jack to hook it up

Hope this helps.

still it says to use the headphones out to record that model when there are no XLR outs. There are also 3 diff models of each flextone series, your must be the basic model.

midi out and midi in with a midi-usb cable can be use to adjust parameters used for the line6 pedalboard. You can adjust all the effects thru the computer and make them presets for the shortboard (or longboard). This is where the flextone amps can shine.

ps. you will need to download an old version of Java to make the line6 software work.
