I have recently come across guitar "skins" and they looked sort of cool. I was considering finding a used Jackson or something and putting a moon-themed skin on it, but I am not really sure exactly how well skins work. Do they damage the finish or leave behind any residue if removed? Can they be removed? Do they wear out easily? etc.
So I was just curious if anyone had any knowledge of guitars skins and the pros/cons of them (other than that they can look cool). Thanks in advance

Here is the skin I was looking at: http://www.fourthfloorgraphics.com/FFDesigns/moonlight%20guitar%20skins%20blue.html

Haha :P It'd mainly be just for a stage guitar, the guitars I own right now I'd never do that to. A lot of the designs look crappy in my opinion but I like the one I posted, and think it would look cool on a Jackson long-term.

I meant pros and cons as far as functionality and if anyone had used skins before lol

I've never used one either.
But from the looks of these it's just a giant sticker.
So I'd guess you'll be looking for the pros and cons of stickers on guitars.
For actual usability I think nothing changes whatsoever.
You might have problems removing it I assume.
Like glue residue or something.

I dunno. Buy one. Try it. Post pics

She will join the prom.

She insists to wear this lights.

I don't think so.

How can I persuade her?

Somehow I doubt that XD
But yeah, I might keep my eye open for a Jackson or something else super-strat that is somewhere around $300ish (probably get something used since a few dings will be covered up anyways) and get a skin. If I do I'll post it, but it could a bit lol

You could put one on a guitar, then put something over it, like clear paint.

$80 for a giant sticker just to look "cool" on stage seems kinda dumb

A wall of fake amps onstage for the very same reason is dumb too.

I have spent a lot more money on dumber things to look cool. A couple motorcycles I have bought could be included in that statement.

And the moral of the story is that flashy items for shows to catch people's attention that in no way help you cost money, but once again catch attention
