Do you prefer to get albums? I never bother to pay for digital albums. With physical copies of albums you're guarantied that if your computer loses it's data you still have your music. I hear that CD has higher quality than digital too because the iPod loses some sound quality somehow (i'm not actually certain about this, it's just what I heard from some people on /mu/).

I always want to buy the expensive first run CDs that often have different album covers than the reissues but sometimes they'll go for like 60 bucks. That's way to much for a CD. The CD was a first press marduk - those of the unlight album.

Vinyl gets scratched and it's to expensive to collect for. I mean, one weeks pay for at least two vinyls? **** no.

Now that I have a job I plan to actually buy (some of) the music in my library that I like and keep pirating things to listen to them and buying them if I like them.

This is what I do. I have over 40 gigs of pirated music and I decide to buy an album after i'm thoroughly certain I absolutely want it. Then I usually play it on my speakers on full blast when my parents aren't home to enjoy the album.

I only listen to Switchfoot, MercyMe, and TobyMac.

Normally if you buy music online, from iTunes or wherever, it's bound to your account.
So as long as you log in to the same account, you can redownload it if you somehow lose it.

That said, no I don't buy music lololol.
I'm starting to collect vinyl, and some CDs.

The problem with vinyl is it's expensive and usually buying used CDs compromises sound quality because you can hear every little scratch on your vinyl in the music when you scratch it.

Yeah, but I need vinyl so I can be super hip and cool and shit, y'know?

Yeah or, you know you could just go buy a CD and blow torch the amount of money you could have saved from not buying vinyl. I see no compromise either way.

So I could be just a normalfag and buy CDs, or I could spend a few extra bucks and get vinyl records and be super hip.

They aren't even that much more than CDs, and at the rate I buy music, it wouldn't make a difference.

Hahahahaha. Either way you get the same music except one is gigantic and non portable and is fragile as hell.

I buy CDs. Bought 60 bucks worth today actually.

CDs are awesome because you can get up to 5-6 CDs on ebay with 60 bucks. So awesome.

If I want to listen to music on the go, i'll just use my iPod. I don't see why anyone would carry around a Discman and 50 CDs anyway.

And they're only that fragile if you don't take care of them.
I'm not going "WANT MUSIC NOW" and slamming the record down.

I only buy music. prefer CDs, but will use iTunes on my phone for the sake of convenience. and the sound quality of CDs is far superior. its strange though I saw a study showing we've become so accustomed to mp3s that test groups found the lower quality mp3 versions to be more aesthetically pleasing. weird.

I think CDs sound way better. after using an iPod for so long I was blown away at the clarity and presence whipping out sone of my old CDs.

CD's are good because more often than not if you're downloading music illegally all the information is ****ed up so you have to go through and correct the genre, track titles, year released, etc.

Yes, I prefer CD's also because they are the perfect compromise between sound quality and portability for me. Plus, I enjoy the collecting aspect of it as well.
I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling.

CDs are awesome because if they get scratched you can tape a piece of string to the middle and throw them at people, like a shiny circular boomerang or something.

True, but the time you pay for having to do that way out weighs the thousands of dollars of purchases you would have to make to get the 40+ gigs of music I got for free.

Prince - Dirty Mind
The Strokes - Room On Fire
Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
Rush - 2112 (suck my dick Due)
Rush - Moving Pictures (suck my **** Due)
Gustav Holst - The Planets
Sonic Youth - Murray Street

I really just wanted to buy the Sonic Youth one but if you order $25 you get free shipping. I've needed Dirty Mind and Room On Fire, and Highway 61 Revisited seems like something I should've already had, and I have never had a physical copy of a Rush album but they were all like $4.99 so I don't know how i'm supposed to turn that shit down. And The Planets
