Does anyone know what these are worth and how to get hold of one outside of Japan?

First: http://kzguitarworks.com/englishpages/e_top.html

So you can probably only get one via the used market.

However, what's wrong with getting a Brian May Red Special?

Im getting a BMG one at tax time in July, but Id also like to get a replica with the proper tremolo etc at some point too. The KZ is supposed to be an exact replica.

If you're that big a fan, have you looked at the prices on earlier Red Specials?

I believe there was a Guild version, and as I understand it, BMG's production was based off of the Burns run.

I have, but its pretty much common knowledge that the current version is the best.

Well, yeah- I have one on my G.A.S. list, as it happens.

Ive got an old POS strat copy 21 fret lump of poo with 3 single pick ups wired up like the red special and even that makes some bloody lovely sounds. My only issue is that I cant turn off the bridge pick up otherwise the whole lot doesnt work. It has the phase reverse switchs and individual on offs etc... Love it.
