So im looking for a good metal distortion pedal. I want this more modern metal tone with alot of mids and punch, similar to gojira, btbam, protest the hero, lamb of god etc.. I dont want the filter-like type of distortion that metallica uses. I already have a metal muff and metalzone, and i cant seem to find the sound im looking for.

The second pedal i want, is a type of distortion/overdrive pedal to get a blues/jazz fusion sound simmilar to guthrie govan and greg howe.

what's your amp?
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

ah ok

have you tried a tubescreamer-style od over the lead channel? it's a fair while since i've tried the f series, but i thought they got pretty darn heavy. the smoother tone of the ts with the mid boost might help.

again for teh guthrie type of tone i'd try to work with teh amp as much as possible. heck even get a ts-type pedal and see if it works well for that type of tone, too (obviously with less gain and a smoother tone dialled into the amp).

what speaker is in it? the speaker affects things a lot, too, and you can get replacement speakers for no more than the price of a pedal. so that also might be worth considering.

For a metal pedal, there's a fair bit of options. I'd I'd take a look at the Amp Tweaker Tight Metal Pedal, Okko Dominator, or the AMT E1 (or the R1 or P1). I'd also recommend checking out A POD HD300, It can do a pretty good modern metal tone but I'm not too sure about the Govan type tone. Still though, I think it'd be worth at least a look.
