Shit, have not been here in a looong time. Anyway, a friend asked me to fix their Alvarez (RD8) for them, and it just needed some fresh tuners. So I found some Alvarez ones cheap on eBay, but the pegs are a lot slimmer. The knobs are smaller as well, so probably from a 12 string.

The problem I'm having is figuring out which adapter bushings to buy to get a tight fit. In fact, I'm not sure what size the pegs on my replacements are. Stewmac has bushings to go from 1/4" to 10mm, and 1/4" to 10.5mm, as you can see here.

The issue is I don't have any proper gauges that can tell the difference of a half millimeter here, and I don't really know if the pegs themselves are 1/4". If anybody knows offhand, or can tell me a quick way to get proper measurements, shoot.

Thanks in advance.

I think I'm just gonna use the backside of some metric drill bits. Clever, though, with the measuring instruments.
