Hey guys, I'm here for the first time, but have used UG for a while, quick question;

I play a Schecter Hellraiser DLX, (Christmas gift for myself )

But I'm wanting to throw some heavier strings on it and looking for suggestions, preferably without modifying the neck nut that came with it. I was looking at some Ernie Ball Beefy Slinkys , I've used Super Slinkys before, and I like the feel, but like i said, I'm looking for well, a "Beefier" sound. Any thoughts?

-Thanks

You'd probably be fine upto 11's with the standard nut slots but any heavier would need the nut filed.

Planning on drop c or b standard @greed18, and what about the heavier e string, the beefys have a 54, that's like 8-12 larger( don't know if it came with 42's or 46's)

If you buy a ready made set of strings then be careful. I once dropped my RG2550 into drop C with a set of Ernie Ball's Beefy Slinky. I found the 0.22p gauge string in a set of 11-54 was unbeliveable hard to bend, and ended up replacing it with a thinner 0.18 gauge string which felt more natural.
I'm used to playing 10-46 in std tuning.

But i have weak hands so that might not be a problem for you =D
