Just made a quick recording of myself jamming along to a backing track. Recorded on my phone so the quality isn't the best. Been playing guitar on and off past few years, lacked any dedication. Decided to get myself into gear and started lessons. So here's my recording...please go easy on me

Not to be mean or cruel, but I have to agree with LesPaulJames. The note lengths were all the same, almost staccato. Also, you left no room for the backing piece. All I heard was you playing - you didn't lay out at all. Think of playing lead as akin to talking. Do you talk all the time, or do you occasionally take a rest to breathe, or to let someone else say something? Keep working at it. You will improve.

Cheers for the crit lads. I'll try work on my note length. I think my problem is I don't get much chance to jam with friends as none of mine play guitar. But I'm enjoying playing along to backing tracks.

Thanks again
