So I've been thinking about trying to build my own tube amp from a kit. I am pretty mechanically inclined and have some basic (but limited) knowledge of electronics. My question is have any of you ever done this and can you recommend a good kit or ones to stay away from. I am looking at building a low watt (1-5 watts) tube head.something with a some crunch .I'm not expecting Killer tone out of this ,more a learning experience. Any input would be welcomed. Thanks

It's a great site. They are the No1 supplier I use for my amps. Those Classic Tone trannies are the best value for money there is. Good quality made in Chicago stuff.
They have been a pleasure to deal with too. Reasonable shipping costs, which of course is important when you live way down here, and have just been a joy to deal with.
