So i want to learn drums. I want it just for fun, and i think it will improve my rythm on guitar/other instruments, because drums is (almost) pure rythm. I also compose drums for my own songs, so actually being able to play drums would help alot for coming up with beats to riffs. Im an intermediate guitarist i would say. I want to learn prog rock/metal on drums. I would like to learn stuff from bands like: Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Rush, Dream Theater, King Krimson etc... I dont have a drumset, but i have a drum pad and some books i can drum on.
Sorry if this might seem stupid, but any songs from these bands you would recomend? Im a complete beginner.

You might be biting off more than you can chew. Learn how to play simple, straightforward beats before approaching progressive rock or metal.

Wowzer, you couldn't have picked a harder style to play than prog metal lol.

If you only have a pad to play on then I'd be learning some rudiments, start with simple paradiddles and expand by adding more beats etc and get the rudiment chart from the Vic Firth website.
There's plenty of vids on youtube which show you how to do rudiments effectively (up, down, tap strokes), there's a right way and a wrong way to do them, once I learned the right way it was like a short cut to gaining speed if you practice enough.

I can't really think of an easy song from any of those bands. Personally I'd start with Pink Floyd, something like the first half of Money because it is in 7/4 but its a simple rhythm (would ignore the middle section until getting better chops).

Any of the earlier stuff (Limelight, Working Man etc.) from Rush seems pretty easy. Best of sticking to 3/4 and 4/4 for now.

You don't need epic tone in the bedroom any more than you need mood lighting to masturbate.

Anyone know something easy by opeth or king krimson?

The first half of 21st Century Schizoid Man is relatively simple. There's some weird fills, but I never bother learning fills in songs anyway. When the song turns into batshit jazz fusion, the drums go nuts and I can't even tell what they're doing. But the chorus/verse sections aren't too bad.
