Hey guys, I just got a Bugera 333XL and I was wondering what would be some good tubes to put in to replace the stock ones? It sounds decent, but I've heard that tube amps only get better once you have new ones put in. I'm looking for a really punchy sound, close to a modern Trivium or As I Lay Dying sound. Can new tubes do this and if they can, which ones would be the best option?

Try JJ or Electro Harmonix tubes. Make sure you get a matched/quad pair of powertubes and get high gain preamp tubes. Then once the tubes are in, bias the amp.

This is terrible advice. Even worse than the useless dry, sarcastic comment I made.

I'm too old for the Jim Morrison look now. When I was gigging I had a fine arse.

How much will the tubes run?
